Guidelines for Receiving Free Items

I belieive in helping out the community and occasionally give away free things.  Preferably they are to be given to someone living in Muskingum County who really needs the item or items.  The only stipulation is that the person receiving be over 18 y.o. and sign that they have received the item along with name and address & phone number when you pick up.

This jacket was given away to a Zanesville resident on Sept. 20, 2010

Capodimonte "N" Crown Pottery Mark

This vase is about 17 inches high in pretty good shape.  Has a couple hairline cracks.  The flowers have chipping around the edges.  Anyone know what this piece might be worth? If anyone is interested in this piece may contact Candy candywygle@yahoo.com or phone 740-587-4049

I wish there was another way to advertise our garage sales in Muskingum County.  Used to love it when those special advertiser papers let us advertise for free.  There are still a number of people who just do not use the internet.  Hope someone starts up another economical paper soon.

Traffic Congestion on Maple due to Construction

 This week Maple Ave. in Zanesville has continued the extensive revamping and upgrading projects to make the road safer.  However, it has bottle-necked traffic and accidents are easy to have in this congestion.  Here is a three car pile up in front of Tee-Jayes this week.  Just be careful and stay off of Maple if you can possibly take another route until the construction is finished.

Sheridan Street Changes, Zanesville

   

A lot of the road work on Maple Ave. is continuing.  The traffic light at Sheridan Street was removed.  Now there is a right turn only when coming from Sheridan Street onto Maple.  It seems that this improvement was for the better and will make traffic flow a little quicker on Maple.
  

Community Bulletin Boards

I love stores who let customers put up ads on their community bulletin boards.  Campbells grocery store on Maysville Pike in South Zanesville has one of these.  It is right by the exit door.  Kudos to them.  There are many, free items and bargains that can be found on these boards.

Goodwill Zanesville Renovation?

I heard thru the grapevine that Goodwill at its current location will be closing for a complete renovation sometime in the near future.  They are supposed to locate somewhere else temporarily and keep the business open while the renovation is taking place.

 A center cement abutment is being installed on Maple Ave. in Zanesville, Ohio close to Tlaquepaque Mexican Restaurant.  Is it permanent, installed for safety?  I remember a center median divider used to be in place years ago in the Burger King Vicinity and distinctly remember someone running their classy Corvette right up on it.  Well, I know it is for safety issues, but right now the traffic is backed up really bad because of all the work.  So for the time being in order to avoid an accident, I recommend shying away from Maple Ave. and taking all the alternate routes you can come up with.
